Many out of laziness and lack of creativity have turned themselves into chronic beggars in the church of Jesus Christ. The rich and the blessed ones are at the receiving end as the beggars in church have made their lives miserable. It’s good to give and be a blessing to the less privileged in church but not at the expense of the livelihood of the rich and more privileged.

Many scriptures encourage us to bless and minister to the poor in the church but no scripture encourages laziness and begging. Some have made themselves perpetual welfare candidates, disregarding opportunities to be financially independent.

Beggars in the church target some certain individuals in church whom they always walk up to after every service to choke them with their financial problems. Sometimes they make it look as if the rich in the church don’t have personal problems of their own.

The only reason why a believer should beg is to get out of begging.

“For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee “- Deuteronomy 15:6

God promised his faithful children, abundance and therefore they are not supposed to be perpetual beggars.

Most of these beggars are not tithers, neither do they give to support the church or others. Every child of God must desist from begging because it can only make you poorer and make your giver richer. Many delight in begging because they are lazy.

“Laziness brings on a deep sleep, and the idle person will go hungry”.  -Proverbs 19:15

If a brother is hungry due to laziness, he is not entitled to welfare assistance because the bible says, “that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”
